"God corrects you in this life because He loves you, and

sets a high standard for you and all His children."

When you pray for God’s Grace to surround you and those you love, we pray for His response to be an impenetrable shield of protection, love and favor that cannot be shaken or broken.

“Seek the LORD, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the LORD’s anger.” ‭‭Zephaniah‬ ‭2:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The key is meekness, righteousness and humility. To seek justice over your own self-interest. (James 4:1) All of which are good and perfect gifts that can only come from God through Christ. (James 1:17) Without Christ coming first, and you giving Him the honor and glory in your life as to the reason why you are able to receive and demonstrate such beautiful traits (John 15:5), it is possible that you may be found at odds with God. (James 4:6; 1 Peter 5:5)

God loves judgment. (Psalm 37:28) When God’s anger is kindled and a wrong must be made right on your behalf, it is imperative that you not be found part of the problem or the cause. God loves you, but God is also a Holy and Powerful “FATHER”. In that role, as He makes things right on your behalf when you are hurt by others, He may also correct you as well. At minimum, exhort you to humility so that you can receive a blessing or be exalted above those that hurt you.

"And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: 'My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.'" Hebrews 12:5-6 NKJV (See also Proverbs 3:11)

God doesn't just correct us, but defends and fights for us when we are wronged. God's anger and vengeance may not come when we want, but it does come...and can be very scary! (Deuteronomy 32:35) Especially when we see it happen before our eyes. But the correction we personally receive has a deeper purpose. Listen to what the Apostle Peter wrote:

“For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?” ‭‭I Peter‬ ‭4:17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The correction from God, His judgment, comes for us as Christians every day while we live this life. As Christians, we are judged today on this Earth so that we are saved from the judgment that is to come after we leave this world. We are saved from standing in judgment before the throne of God after we die if we believe in and live for Jesus Christ our Lord.

In the end, what will happen to those who ignore God’s correction, His love, the gift and sacrifice of His Son? Like in Moses’ day when the homes that didn’t have lamb’s blood on the door posts when the Angel of Death visited Egypt (Exodus 12:23), if we are found leaving this Earth without the Blood of Christ on the door posts of our hearts, what should the expectation be? Judgment. And judgment AFTER this life is death. Judgment while on this Earth is life, now and forever more..

Pray diligently for yourself, your loved ones, and others. Make sure you reflect on your own character and behavior. Be quick to ask God for forgiveness for your own actions. And if you find yourself being the cause of issues surrounding your grief and hardship, be quick to seek forgiveness, from God and those you offended. (Matthew 5:23-24) God corrects you in this life because He loves you, and sets a high standard for you and all His children.

God bless you in Christ Jesus the Lord, always.
